The Complaining Challenge.

Dear Friend,

I’ve been on an adventure for the past few months. Abba has been digging roots of complaining, criticism and argument out of my soul. Exposing pockets of negativity hidden in plain site. It’s been….shocking. Uncomfortable. Liberating.

Part of this journey was the Complaining Challenge my discipleship group participated in. It rocked my world. Opened my eyes. Shifted my perspective.

So I’m doing it again. And, this time, I’m inviting you to join me. We’ll go 7 days without complaining, criticizing or arguing. With anyone. About anything. For any reason. 😳

Each day, I’ll send you a devotional through the blog to help you through the journey. I’ll also do a Facebook LIVE to encourage you. (Kim Wahl is my blog page on Facebook. Like and follow to know when I’m going LIVE.)

Yes – it will be a challenge. Yes – it will stretch you. Yes – it will be hard. BUT – this has the potential to change your life. And I don’t say this lightly. If you participate and engage, it WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

So join me. What have you got to loose?

And, invite a friend! Any adventure is better when you travel with a partner.

Thought to share: stop wishing things were different. Stop longing for a different set of circumstances. Easier circumstances. Stop dreaming about another scenario. Instead, talk to ME about it. Ask ME what should change. Ask ME what MY plans are. I may have orchestrated your situation to perfectly accomplish MY will in your life. I may have placed those people in those positions – those places – in your life to serve MY purpose. I may have put you exactly where you are. And if you spend your time dreaming for something else, then you’ll miss everything I have for you. Ask ME if something needs to change. And if so, then I will lead you to change, adjusting people and shifting circumstances. If it’s the enemy, then I’ll empower you to live in the victory I’ve given you. And if no changes are needed, then I will give you the grace to persevere.

James 1:2-3 (NLT)  Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
2Corinthians 12:9-10 (NLT) Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Thought to share: change is inevitable. Your life is constantly moving in and out of various seasons in multiple areas of your life simultaneously. As seasons come and go, they bring with them new challenges and experiences. They require adaptations to life. They entail uncomfortable adjustments. Often you don’t like it.
But I encourage you: don’t fight the season change; embrace it. Though it may be scary, welcome it. Though it may be difficult, accept it – because I AM in the change. I have planned good things for you in the new season. But if you resist, you may miss the treasures I have hidden for you along the way. Flow with the season and its changes and you’ll find you are closer to ME.
And one thing you can count on – though the seasons change, MY love and faithfulness to you remains the same.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT) For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
Romans 8:28 (NLT) And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.
2Timothy 2:13 (NLT) If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny who he is.
